Happy to share Triantafyllidis’ research group participation in 6^th EuChems Conference which took place on 3-6^thSeptember 2023, in Salerno, Italy. Eleni Psochia presented her work entitled “Nanocellulose-reinforced particle boards with nanoimprinted surfaces for enhanced hydrophobicity”, disseminating results from the CELL4GLUE project and her PhD thesis. The results exhibited the reinforcement of particle boards’ mechanical properties with nanocellulose addition as well as a significant decrease in formaldehyde emission rates. Finally, it was shown that the implementation of micro/nanostructures on the boards’ surface via nanoimprint lithography improved the boards’ hydrophobicity, offering new alternatives in wood panel technology. All these very interesting results would not be possible if it weren’t for our partners in the project, Chimar Hellas SA and Nanotypos who with their appropriate equipment and valuable experience in the field, performed the particle boards’ manufacturing and nanoimprint, respectively.
